Hailed for her “spirited” and “truly charming” performances by the press, soprano Rachael Long has captivated a wide range of audiences from intimate coffee shops to the Auditorium Theatre (Chicago, IL).

Most recently, Long had the pleasure of performing with Opera on Tap in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival performing Dr. Jennifer Higdon's Civil Words. This past season, Long co-created Perk & Bark, a virtual live performance show featuring music, coffee and conversation.

Other roles include Susanna (Il segreto di Susanna), Nedda (Pagliacci), Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) Corinna and Delia (Il Viaggio a Reims), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), and La dame in Poulenc’s La dame de Monte Carlo. She has had the distinct honor of premiering the role of Narrator in Francis Lynch’s For Those In Peril. Long was a founding member of Forte Chicago, Chicago's premier Opera Improv group.

In concert, Long has had the pleasure of performing and premiering the music of Chicago-based composer Elizabeth Rudolph in her recital "Finding Home, Finding Self". She also debuted with the Salt Creek Chamber Ensemble as the Soprano Soloist in Handel's Messiah.

After getting her start in singing by performing alongside her brother’s guitar playing in her living room, the Pittsburgh native received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University. She has taken part in masterclasses with Marlena Malas, Patricia Craig, and Armen Guzelimian. Long currently resides in Philadelphia.
